For the games they passed up, they either gave their tickets to neighbors or, if there were no takers, their seats were empty.

But this is not the time of year when Longwood or Maryland- Baltimore County comes to Cassell Coliseum. This is not the time of year when holiday shopping or football occupies fans' time.
         postcard printing
This is the time of year for ACC basketball games, the reason the Prices became season-ticket-holders.

So when defending NCAA champ North Carolina visited Feb. 4, Price and her family were part of the nearly full house.

And when rival Virginia pays a visit at 8 p.m. today, it's a safe bet the Prices will be part of a capacity -- or close to it -- crowd.

"We go to them all," Price said of the ACC games on Tech's schedule. "We want to see the ACC.

"My husband actually went to Duke, so that's why we got the tickets originally -- so we could see Duke."

Tech men's basketball tickets were easy to come by back when the Hokies belonged to the Atlantic 10 or the Big East -- even on most game days.

That changed once the Hokies joined the ACC in 2004. Tech sold out of season tickets in its first five seasons in the league.

This year, Tech sold 6,410 season tickets -- about 200 shy of the allotment, which assistant athletic director Sandy Smith blames on the economy. So those 200 seats were made available to buy as single-game tickets, and all were bought before the season.

By comparison, only 2,231 season tickets were sold for the 2002- 03 season, the team's next-to-last year in the Big East.

Of course, not all of the 9,847 seats at Cassell Coliseum go to season-ticket-holders. The rest go to corporate sponsors, the visiting team or are set aside as single-game tickets for Tech students.

That doesn't mean that Cassell is always packed, of course.

There are plenty of no-shows for nonconference games. There were even empty seats at last month's home game against Boston College, which doesn't have the cache Breitling Replica Watches of longtime ACC members.

Tech doesn't count no-shows, but Smith said the number of empty seats at Tech's nonleague games was "comparable" to most ACC schools.

"I'm really pleased with our crowds, quite honestly," coach Seth Greenberg said. "Our nonconference schedule, we've had great crowds compared to years past in terms of ... people coming."

Jim Gear of Salem has owned a season ticket since Tech was a Big East member.

He attended only two of the eight nonconference home games this season. Sometimes his seat would go empty if he couldn't find somebody who wanted his ticket.

Jay and Linda Muscatello of Christiansburg have owned season tickets since Tech's first year in the ACC. This season, they haven't missed a game -- since Christmas.

"It's easier not to come when football's still going on," Jay Muscatello said. "We're big football fans, too. When I'm wrapped up in one sport, I don't get as wrapped up in the other one."
                            <
Other articles:
http://www.juancheng.info/Blog/View/?1092
http://myspaces.web-itsolution.com/blog/view/id_88/title_Wet-weather-boosts-store-sales/
http://www.askewalbum.com/new/blog/view/id_118/title_Red-suits-and-running-shoes-re/
...

<trackback:ping>http://www.kf99.net/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=291&key=25423795</trackback:ping>

ENClookback021810

   100 years ago, 1910

In spite of the rough weather of the past few days, news of spring came to hand yesterday in the form of a spray of trailing arbutus in bloom. He said that in the process of opening up, China will make an active and effective use of foreign capital, and will manage to give a better play to the positive role of foreign capital in China's economic restructuring and in promoting a long-term, stable and relatively rapid development in China.

Villiger and Chambers expressed appreciation for the economic stimulus measures adopted by the Chinese government in the face of the global financial crisis, which swiftly brought about obvious results and enabled China to take the lead in tiding over the crisis.

They said that foreign companies doing business in China are optimistic about the prospect of China's economic development and are willing to participate in China's process of economic development on a long-term and sustainable basis, to realize mutual benefit and a win-win situation.

The Chinese vice premier arrived in Switzerland on Monday for a four-day visit that will also see him traveling to the Swiss Alpine resort of Davos for the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.

Li met with leading Swiss entrepreneurs and Swiss President Doris Leuthard on Monday and Tuesday, and exchanged views with them rolex global financial markets."

Replica fendi wholesale As a result of the financial crisis, the global imbalance problem "has largely become a trade imbalance" problem between two countries, "a bilateral problem between the U.S. and China," he added.

Noting that Europe and the United States have been pressuring China to appreciate the RMB, Woolfolk doubted it is an ideal solution to the trade imbalance.

"Even we had a market clearing rate right now, perhaps 25 percent higher from where it is now with respect to the Chinese currency, there is still a vast difference in the cost of labor in the U.S. versus China," he said.

"We'll still be buying products from emerging markets, maybe not China, but from neighboring countries," Woolfolk said. "We will not necessarily be buying them from American producers."

The solution, rather than the foreign exchange, he said, is to encourage more Chinese investment in the United States. "(Encouraging China to) invest in U.S. securities market, not just our treasuries but broadly foreign direct investment, and to buy more of our exports," Woolfolk said.

Economists and analysts at Wednesday's panel agreed that there would be a rise of tension between the two countries, because even the recession has passed, the modest economic recovery still isn't able to bring down the high unemployment rate.

"As long as there is persistently high unemployment, it is going to affect consumer confidence,...and politics," Kevin Logan, an independent global economist and member of the National Association for Business Economics, told Xinhua.
  fake rolex
"People will look for either a scapegoat, or a solution that is not going to cost anyone here anything, but will cost someone else," Logan said.

Logan said whenever and wherever there are downward pressures on wages and incomes with a high unemployment rate, it usually leads to rising protectionism in trade.

Other articles:
http://www.vivarmenia.com/blogs/blog.php?user=mywatches&note=12775
http://www.worldstarhr.com/Other-voices.html
http://www.0858xx.com/Blog/View/?324
http://www.sqrmyy.com/China-ACM-Wins-Xian-HighSpee.html
http://www.hulanw.com/Blog/View/?899
...

<trackback:ping>http://www.kf99.net/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=286&key=6ed217ca</trackback:ping>

Roundup Hong Kong stocks close

Roundup: Hong Kong stocks close 0.54 pct lower

HONG KONG, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks receded 111.86 points, or 0.54 percent to close at 20,422.15 on Thursday, mainly dragged down by commodity producers following the drop in metal prices.
                  postcard printing
After an almost flat opening, the benchmark Hang Seng Index fluctuated between 20,569.61 and 20,381.30 before landing slightly lower than the previous closing.

Turnover remained low, totaling 34 billion HK dollars (about 4. 38 billion U.S. dollars).

Among the heavyweights, China Mobile, China's biggest telecom service provider, shed 0.13 percent to 76.65 while the sole market operator HKEx dived 1.15 percent to 129.4 HK dollars. "We are looking to help grow a safe, secure and sustainable milk supply in China in order to meet this demand and expand our customer base," he said.

The China dairy market is set to become the world's largest in the next few decades and is forecast to experience double digit annual growth over the next 10 years. The Chinese Government has acknowledged that the development of the dairy farming industry is not only crucial for meeting the growth in demand, but also for developing rural communities and their livelihoods.

Turner said Tangshan Fonterra Farm, Fonterra's pilot farm in Hangu established in 2007, had succeeded in demonstrating that Fonterra can successfully produce New Zealand standard milk in China. It has reached target production levels ahead of timetable and is producing record levels of milk for China. "We are confident that with further investment in good technology, people and high quality genetics, we can replicate this model on brochure printing further farms. This will complement our New Zealand milk supply and help us better meet the needs of our key customers, who are increasingly looking for local sourcing capability," he said.

Fonterra has identified several possible sites for the new farms in Hebei Province and will consider partnering on the investment.

However, Turner said Fonterra would want to have full management of the farms.

"It is important that we keep the next two farms in close proximity to Tangshan Fonterra in order to achieve efficiencies in transport, milk supply and Fonterra management."

Turner said due diligence was already under way and the aim was to complete the final long- term lease deal by mid-2010.

Tangshan Fonterra is already producing its second Replica prada wholesale generation of China born heifers, following two successful rounds of calving since the farm was first established. The total herd has grown to nearly 5800 cows, around half of which have been raised from the original imported herd of Friesians.

Each of the new farms is planned to be of similar size to Hangu, with around 35 hectares of land and around 3300 milking cows, creating employment and training opportunities for 350 people in Hebei Province.

Tangshan Fonterra manager and experienced veterinarian Todd Meyer said the second round of calving was proof that Fonterra had successfully adapted the New Zealand-quality herd to the farming environment in China. "We couldn't have asked for a better result. We have introduced new China-born blood into our herd and are meeting our production targets for high quality local milk."

Other articles:
http://www.vnsale.net/Feels-she-may-have-a-small-for.html
http://www.porten.se/blog.php?user=mywatches&note=674
http://watches2010.ko-co.jp/e78756.html
http://www.uwopc.org/Pair-charged-with-robbery-of-h.html
http://watches2010.e-know.jp/e217925.html
...

<trackback:ping>http://www.kf99.net/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=284&key=c83a994c</trackback:ping>

Footsie sheds 1.7% on worries

BRITAIN'S top shares recorded a three-week closing low yesterday as disappointing results from top US banks and more signs of fiscal tightening in China hurt banking and commodity stocks.

The FTSE-100 index closed down 92.34 points, or 1.7%, at 5420.80 - the lowest closing level since December 31, 2009. It has announced it is buying two more farms.

"We'll see how they go. We will move cautiously," Mr Romano says.

Animal welfare is not an issue, with cows living in barns.

"The cows can move around. There is no issue of any kind. We're agnostic here about cows living in barns."

But he acknowledges Fonterra's three farms "won't cut it in China. We have to either expand or sell the farms."

Fonterra is interested in getting ownership and milk supply right, after its investment in SanLu came back to bite Fonterra, when the Chinese company was involved in the melamine-tainted milk scandal.

"One hundred per cent ownership is not an option in China. Fonterra needs partners. We are being very careful in selecting them. We've got to give ourselves credibility with investors, who also have credibility."

Mr Romano emphasises the growth potential in China.
tag heuer replica
"The dairy industry produces 28 billion litres a year. We export a fraction of that - one million litres - but by the end of the decade, China will need 80 billion litres of milk a year. Can they supply that themselves? It is unlikely."

As the dairy market changes, the United States, Europe and Latin America are all potential, he says.

Fonterra will have to be agile on its feet, given the potential competition, he says.

"We can't not be in China. Our customers want us there and the New Zealand Government wants us there. We're cautiously optimistic, and I hope there won't be, but there will probably be a few whoopsies on the way."

Fonterra wants to control the milk-supply chain, although not from a 100 per cent ownership point, he says. There is also potential in the restaurant and food- vendor market.

"At the moment, 20,000 tonnes of New Zealand dairy products go into the food-service business in China. We want to maintain that and the food-service business is expected to boom."

A branded dairy market also exists for Fonterra's Anlene and AnMum being manufactured in New Zealand and sent to China. In the future, that could be produced there. The melamine scare has also meant a bigger market for Fonterra's goods, as Chinese consumers look for safe dairy products.

   Fonterra expects exports to dip.

"Ultimately, we want to supply the final product there. It doesn't make sense to ship tins. That is not the model we want."
                    fake rolex
Stainless steel is expensive in China, Mr Romano says, but Fonterra has plenty of potential partners keen to work with it to build manufacturing sites in C
Other articles:
http://www.zjxkc.com/Police-hunt-young-man-after-se.html
http://www.autoport.com.cn/Blog/View/?814
http://www.mibitacora.com/blog.php?user=mywatches&note=7355
http://baerliner-seiten.de/mywatches/2010/02/06/early-risers-will-see-good-bar/
http://mywatches.sosblog.com/The-first-blog-b1/Burglars-gather-a-sports-kit-h-b1-p13.htm
...

<trackback:ping>http://www.kf99.net/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=280&key=fec5a186</trackback:ping>

Football boss faces fixing cha

The former head of the Chinese Football Association has been placed rolex fake under "criminal investigation" in the probe into matchfixing in replica breitling domestic soccer. This farm has 5200 cows and calves with 2600 mature cows sometimes milking three times a day in a covered feedlot operation.

Fonterra trade and operations managing director Gary Romano said the co-operative realised it would have to invest in local facilities and wanted to re-establish a brand position but would be acting cautiously.

He said the co-operative had a 70 per cent market share in food services such as butter and cream in China and wanted to maintain this share in a sector set to explode.

However, the co-operative would make sure its three farms were successful and worked carefully to establish credibility before looking for further opportunities.

"We are going to invest in another two farms and we will see how we go. We are keen to see a large footprint in China."

He said the cows were thriving at least as well as if they were farmed in New Zealand and Fonterra had no issue with the style of housed feed lot farming as temperatures could get to below 30 degrees Celsius.

A $200 million partnership in the SanLu dairy processing company was written off by Fonterra last year after it was badly advised by its Chinese partners during a melamine milk poisoning crisis, which caused the deaths of several infants. pandora charms

Gaining full control of a Chinese operation would be Fonterra's first desire after this disaster, but the nation's government and rules makes this difficult and a joint venture is the most likely prospect.

Romano said controlled ownership or a percentage of ownership would be the easiest route.

"Everyone wants to partner with us and put a plant in China and at the moment we are cautiously looking at who we might partner. Right now there is zero."

He said the co-operative realised further investment would be needed to have a large presence in China.

"Three farms ain't going to cut it and our desire is to have a large footprint in China. Without SanLu, one to three farms looks a bit stranded so we have to do something."

Fonterra owns 85 per cent of its first farm and sells high quality milk independently for a premium to manufacturers in Beijing.

China and its 1.4b nation is an important market, helping to drive world commodity prices up.

The nation produces and consumes 22 to 28 billion litres of milk a year and the predictions are this will increase to 80 billion litres in the next decade.

Romano said China would be unable to produce this much milk itself.

He said dairy corporations were already established in China including fake rolex Minglu and the Cullen Fund and Fonterra had to be among them.

Further setbacks were likely in an emerging nation such as China and this was why the co-operative needed to expand cautiously, he said.

   --
Other articles:
http://artfolio.com.ua/blog.php?user=watches2010&blogentry_id=115
http://watches2010.blog.china.com/201002/5912510.html
http://www.uwopc.org/All-the-best-to-you-Tel-ECHO.html
http://www.chhtherapy.com/index.php/public/blog/view/id_33/
http://www.ygrx.sx.cn/Blog/View/?342
...

<trackback:ping>http://www.kf99.net/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=276&key=9c809d2c</trackback:ping>

Fonterra relaunches brands in

FONTERRA is shedding its coyness about returning to dairy manufacturing in China after pandora charms a disastrous debut, saying it is relaunching two premium brands there and ultimately wants to make them in China.

New Zealand's biggest company has also revealed that China is "a registered focus area" on its books, commanding its own profit-and- loss accounts, and separate from its major Asia-Middle East business division.
        catalog printing
Managing director trade and operations, Gary Romano, said two of Fonterra's flagship export brands, Anlene and Anmum, were being relaunched in China.
