ISN'T SHE DOVELY

IT'S the hit advert storming the internet that shows an ordinary woman being turned into a beauty worthy of the cover of any glossy magazine.

But as those who have watched the video know, the final look is a con.

In the clip, an army of stylists and make-up experts transform the girl before computer wizards digitally remaster her face to astonishing effect. Now we can reveal the "model" was Canadian producer Stephanie Betts. The video was made by the soap company Dove to show D&G Fake how other beauty firms could use technology to "enhance" an image.

Betts, a 22-year-old from Toronto whose fianc Tim Piper worked on the project, said: "I was blown away the first time I saw it. It didn't look like me."

Her nose was the only thing that wasn't retouched. Even her eyebrows were moved. So far the clip has had more than a million hits on video posting website YouTube. One viewer said: "This shows how flawed our perception of 'beauty' is. How sad." - THE video is part of a Dove campaign said to be aimed at raising women's self- esteem.
