Dooney & Bourke Inc., an upscale maker of purses and other women's accessories, plans to open a store in The Westchester mall by early October.
The Norwalk, Conn.-based company is still looking to fill six to eight positions, including manager, assistant manager and sales clerks for the 2,131-square-foot store, said Gary Dembart, executive vice president for Dooney & Bourke.
The companys products, which include wallets, hats and tote bags, are already sold in department stores in White Plains, Monogram Mini Lin Handbags including Macys and Nordstrom. But Dembart said the company makes more products than many department stores are interested in Gucci Clutches Handags Replica selling. "Our own stores carry the complete assortment of everything we sell," he said.
The Westchester mall is a good location for the store, Dembart said, because "it's close to aflluent areas, so we think Dooney and Bourke customers will shop there." The new store will be on the mall's first level, next to Burberry's and across from Sephora.
"It's also close to our headquarters, and allows us (headquarters executives) to go back and forth and work with our retail environment so we can help our other stores around the country ... with merchandising and display - and we just think it's a great mall."
Robert Draizen, senior director at Robert K. Futterman & Associates L.L.C. of New York City, a real estate firm specializing in retail leasing and investment sales, represented the store in the transaction for the 10-year lease. The store will be Dooney & Bourke's ninth retail location. The company also sells its products through a catalog and on the Internet.
